Hello
My name is Katrina. I'm a nurse, midwife and lactation consultant.
My goal in this space is to empower and support you in your unique feeding journey.
I've been a nurse for 20 years, and 13 years ago I achieved my dream of becoming a midwife. During my career as a midwife, I discovered a passion for education and supporting mothers in their breastfeeding and postnatal journeys.
My own journey to motherhood was long and painful and filled with grief. After years of trying without success, I was given a triple diagnosis of severe endometriosis, polycystic ovaries and a uterine anomaly (misshapen uterus).
6 challenging years later...
On my last round of IVF....
My final two embryos took.
7 years ago I gave birth to my beautiful (non-identical) twin boys.
My own breastfeeding journey was painful and complicated. I endured excruciating pain, breast refusal, milk supply issues and inconsolable, screaming babies.
Eventually my boys were finally diagnosed with both tongue ties and cow’s milk protein allergy. Through a deluge of tears I was finally able to breastfeed (but also had to bottle feed long-term).
The lack of support in my own journey drove me to become a Lactation Consultant - so I can help mothers avoid the pain and suffering that I endured.
This is my passion.
